| All the of the feedback on my last post really has me wanting to write some =P. Not that I'm any good at it, or that I have any good ideas, but whatever, here we go.
There the party stood, perplexed at the complex puzzles and dark corridors which stood before them, Nieses the Druid, Yannake the Fighter, and Silu the Cleric. Leaning against the hilt of his sword, the blade of which dug three inches into the dirt below, Yannake remarked with a hint of tribulation in his voice, "Well damn…" “Exactly as I was thinking. We better head on in if we want to get anything finished here,” Nieses replied. Nieses, the leader of the group and oldest of the three, delved through dungeons such as this one before. Dungeons that required more intelligence than anything, yet, no one in the party possessed much of that, aside from the druid and cleric, who only knew as much as their previous journeys allowed them. As the party began to venture forth, Silu instinctively removed a shiny medallion from his breast pocket and chanted some clerical nonsense for a moment before the small room in front of them began to glow a deep golden color as if it were daylight. “That’ll make this a bit easier,” he says. The small room seemed as new as when the Elves first built it. The light which Silu’s medallion emitted reflected off the shiny surfaces of the room, and the three travelers could easily see their reflections in the walls around them, ceiling above them, and floor beneath them. Silu, however, saw more than just himself in the reflections. He caught quick glimpses of the Elven Guardians who protect this temple. He wondered about them for a second, and it seemed as if they were studying the party, deciding whether they were friend or foe. After noticing this, Silu quickly said, “Hey guys, make sure you don’t do anything hostile. We don’t want to wake up any sleeping ancients in this place.” Yannake smirked and replied, “Pssh, I say bring them on. It’ll only make this little expedition more pleasing to know that I have the blood of an elf on my sword.” Upon hearing this, Nieses spun around toward Yannake, “We need to make sure our Elven buddies aren’t offended by anything we do. We’re guests in their house now, so let’s not make them angry until we get what we’re here for. They are watching.” “Alright, alright. But I can’t just hide my feelings,” he replied with a smirk. Nieses chanted a phrase and swirled his hands in a mystical pattern as a green orb appeared in front of him, before it quickly shot into the air and vanished through the ceiling. The other two noticed Nieses in a deep trance, concentrating on his spell, so they stood still as to not disturb him. Nieses chanted the last words of his spell, and a glowing chain appeared, dangling above Silu. Nieses nodded, and Silu jumped with all his gnomish might to grab hold of the chain, and succeeded in pulling it. Nothing happened. “What the hell was that,” Yannake asked. “I was detecting the presence of hidden objects, but I wonder why pulling the chain did nothing. Maybe the ancients are simply toying with us,” Nieses remarked. “Whatever they’re doing, they better stop before they find a claymore up there a-.” Before Yannake could finished his last word, a strong rumbling occurred, almost like an earthquake, except it seemed as if the walls were shaking instead of the ground below.
I don't even know if I like hardly any of that. Oh well =P.
